Malta Libraries is the entity responsible for the National Libraries and the Central Public Libraries in Malta and Gozo and all the Public Libraries situated in almost every town and village across the islands
What you'll get
As a member with Malta Libraries, you are entitled to borrow library material including eBooks and AudioVisual material, consult our vast collections of Reference material, and make use of other services such as our free Internet and PC services. Moreover, our Online Portal (maltalibraries.gov.mt) allows you to browse through all our collections, and effect Loan Renewals, and Reservations on material that would currently be lent to other borrowers.
Anyone residing in the Maltese Islands including visitors visiting the islands for a short period of time.
How to apply
You can partly enroll online through the link below and you can immediately gain access to the Book Reservations service.
Once you submit the enrollment form, you will be sent an email with your temporary membership number and password. You will also receive further instruction on how to finally acquire your Borrower Card.
New Junior members (aged 17 and under) are to be accompanied by one of their parents when visiting a library for the first time in order to pick up their new Borrower Card. Adults and junior members 14+ need to bring with them their Maltese ID card.
Foreigners, unless owning a residential or Maltese ID Card, would need to be represented by a Maltese guarantor who would also be required to bring his/her ID card when visiting the library to pick up the new Borrower Card.
