Servizz.gov extends opening hours to offer 450 more hours of service each month
Starting this week, all SERVIZZ.GOV centres will also open on Saturdays from 8:00am until noon. In addition, the 25 servizz.gov centres will now operate daily from 9:30am to 2:00pm, with extended opening hours once a week until 6:00pm.
The details of the new opening hours were announced during a visit by the
Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, Chris Bonnett, together with the
Principal Permanent Secretary, Tony Sultana, at the servizz.gov headquarters in
Mosta.
Mr. Sultana explained that the new opening hours will
provide the public with an additional 450 hours of service each month. He added
that in an increasingly digital world, the public service continues to invest
in these centres to ensure that people have full flexibility in how they access
the best possible service.
Minister Chris Bonnett remarked that the extended opening hours were designed
to avoid peak traffic times. He noted that such practices form part of the
“Reshaping our Mobility” plan, which aims to offer non-essential services at
alternative times in order to reduce their impact on road congestion.
Complementing this initiative, Minister Bonnett highlighted the expansion of
park-and-ride facilities, investment in public transport, and the introduction
of new sea routes.
